Miguel Servet was a Spanish theologian, physician, and humanist who lived from 1511 to 1553. He is best known for his work on the human circulatory system, which he described in his book Christianismi Restitutio. In this work, he challenged the traditional beliefs of the Catholic Church and argued for unitarianism, which holds that God is one person and not three in one.
Servet was also a pioneer in the fields of anatomy and medicine, as well as a prolific writer and scholar. His views on religion and theology were radical for his time, and he was considered a heretic by the Catholic Church.
In 1553, Servet was arrested by the Inquisition in Geneva for his religious beliefs and was burned at the stake. His writings and ideas continued to influence later movements such as Unitarianism and the Enlightenment.
